Literacy Socks from Blue Sky Clothing have been an ongoing fundraiser.

You can even direct your donation to a specific program on our secure page on CanadaHelps.org
Testimonials from a few of our programs:
Fostering Literacy
“Investing in programs that enhance the literacy of our youth on the North Island can directly impact their life trajectory. The young adults participating also gain valuable work experience, develop an appreciation of teaching reading, and are positive role models for the younger students.”

- former North Island Secondary School Principal Jay Dixon, about the Fostering Literacy Program
ONE TO ONE Reading Tutors
“If children make you smile, you enjoy their company, and are willing to commit your time, it’s hard to beat the rewards of volunteering for the ONE TO ONE reading program!”
- Reading Tutor Mary Addison, Port McNeill

100% of participating schools reported that the program was beneficial in improving students’ reading level and comprehension, attitude about reading, confidence reading out loud, general self- confidence, and reading fluency.
- ONE TO ONE Program Evaluation Report 2016
“For the first time in her school career she has caught up with her class and is at reading level. She has increased confidence, is reading aloud in class and actually looks forward to it. It’s a big change.”
- Christine Swain, parent of student in ONE-to-ONE tutoring

Family Literacy Kits
“The literacy/activity kits continue to get rave reviews. People cannot stop talking about them – the quality of the items, the care that went into selecting everything, the personalization. They can hardly believe that they can KEEP everything in it. An incredible success!”
- Laura Kaminker, Library Manager at Vancouver Island Regional Library, Port Hardy
