North Vancouver Island, B.C. – September 2026 – This September, Mount Waddington Family Literacy Society (MWFLS) celebrates Literacy Month with a free book for children and fundraising fun at the Mount Waddington Regional Fall Fair.
Now in its 13th year led by Decoda Literacy Solutions, September is Literacy Month aims to raise awareness, raise funds, welcome new volunteers and support local literacy programs in British Columbia.
“Children with access to books and reading at home are more likely to succeed in school - and life,” said MWFLS Executive Director Jessica Brown. “Stop by our booth to say hi! Children can pick out a book to take home and try some fun activities. Adults can buy the softest Merino wool Literacy Socks and talk to us about our free community learning programs and volunteer opportunities.”
